  27. Sorry, but your wrong. I ordered my USR Sportster from Computability the
  28. Friday before Christmas, and I got the 10/13/95 ROM which has the 33.6
  29. capability. But, it doesn't have V.34+ or a 33.6 sticker. But it does
  30. have the Plug and Play sticker though.

  36. On the contrary, I had no problems with the PnP. Win95 detected my modem
  37. as the USR 28800 Vi on the first boot. Since I didn't have the new
  38. driver at the time, I went ahead and selected USR 28.8, and everthing
  39. worked like a champ. When I got the new driver, I removed the old one,
  40. and re-started, then when it detected the modem again, I made it use the
  41. new driver instead. Again no problems what-so-ever. I would have to say
  42. that Plug and Play did what it was supposed to on the first try. I don't
  43. know why others have problems, but for me, it was smooth as silk.

  50. Again, USR IS shipping the new ROMs. So why get the new ROMS if you are
  51. already have it? My advice to future 28.8 Sportster owners is to check
  52. ATI7 to see if it says 33600, or check to see if the date on the ROM is
  53. 10/13/95. If so, then there is no need for upgrading the ROM.

  60. I haven't used the voice-mail feature yet, because I really don't want
  61. to use QuickLink in Win95. Me and friend are going to try and build our
  62. own UNIMODEM V driver, so we can use it with some future Win95 voicemail
  63. programs, such as Microsoft Phone, and I think Procomm Plus 3.0 will
  64. have support as well. Once the driver is done, then I'll try out the
  65. voicemail.
